Misty Genting

4 NOVEMBER 2009
Up, Up and Away!
  • The day begins with us departing from separate directions to meet up at Gombak for our ride. (Wai Kit and I went from Cheras; Stephanie and Chern Yau went from Cheras too but with different transportation; Egg went from her boyfriend's house at Setapak; Chu Ying and Endy were already at Genting)
  • Had brunch at Old Town before catching the bus at 2P.M.
  • Guess the horrendous experience in the bus to Singapore a few months back was still haunting me. Was feeling a little nausea and was wishing pretty badly for the bus to reach the top FAST!!!
  • Heavy mist, bad weather... The outdoor theme park was temporarily not available for amusement.
  • After checking in and leaving our luggage in First World Hotel, we went searching for FUN and EXCITEMENT.
  • Checklist of Things-Done:
  1. Getting ourselves blown by the chilling wind right at the entrance of the outdoor park
  2. Bumped at each other with bumper cars
  3. Spent an hour at the pool table
  4. Had "Bak Kut Teh" for dinner
  5. Watched Poker King
  6. Stephanie, Chern Yau and Chu Ying went to the casino, whereas Wai Kit, Egg, Endy and I loitered around Genting, taking pictures here and there while waiting for the trio
  7. Played cards while enjoying our drinks at Starbucks
  • Returned to our room and TRIED to sleep, but I guess everyone had a hard time sleeping. (The five of us were sharing two single beds! @@)

Down, Down and Way Below!
  • Checked out of the hotel before going to Sushi King for brunch. (Geez! I missed Rakuzen's food damn friggin' much!)
  • Played awhile at the arcade.
  • Took the cable car down to the bus station, and then obviously, the bus, back to Gombak.

Singapore Trip II

12 SEPTEMBER 2009
Bugis Junction, East Coast Park, CityLink Mall, Marina Square
  • Went straight to the bus station after watching Jazz Patrol's gig at Urbanattic. Should not have left so early as it only took me around five minutes to reach the station by taxi. Missed Yaw's birthday celebration!!! >.<
  • 00:00, and Wei Jun and I were off the Singapore! (FRIGGIN' EXCITED and friggin' worried too... Would not want to vomit for six long hours again. Luckily, I had quite a pleasant journey this time.)
我住在贼屋
  • Arrived at Yee Liang and Peng Hong's new home around five in the morning. (Poor Liang... Peng woke him up thrice, I think, until finally, he gave up sleeping.)
  • Peng left for work an hour later whereas Jun and I continued sleeping.
  • Sometime during noon, the three of us, obviously being Jun, Liang and I, went to Bugis to meet up with Shiang Bin.
  • Had lunch... Walked about at Bugis Junction... Bought a pair of shoes (MY HEELS ARE KILLING ME!!!)...
  • ......
  • Next stop... PENG'S PREVIOUS WORKPLACE!
  • Minus the not-so-generous employer, it was really awesome to work at a place with an awesome seaside view.
PENG HONG the Bartender
  • Kelvin joined us at night for dinner.
  • How can I forget?! Peng getting off from the MRT before reaching our destination. Ada orang merajuk! LOL! Well, Liang had to call him a few times just to get him to answer the call. ISH...!!! (WE ADMIT DEFEAT! =p)
  • Kelvin left after dinner.
XINWANG, STREET FOOD IN TAIWAN
  • Karaoke time! Thought about catching a movie too, but our time was limited.
  • Lalalalalalalalalala...
  • Went home and waited... and waited... AND WAITED...
  • WHERE'S OUR DRINKS?!
  • *Snoring*
  • Peng was already fast asleep on the couch. ^%$#@!$%
LOVE... Aww... =p

K BOX

13 SEPTEMBER 2009
Chinatown
  • Brunch at Yum Cha Restaurant. Was really interested in the restaurant's high-tea buffet, but it's only available during weekdays.
  • The dim sums were delicious! Looking forward to another visit to the restaurant, but hopefully, I will be able to try the Dim Sum Buffet during my next visit.
YUM CHA RESTAURANT
  • Walked around "牛车水".
  • All the mouth-watering food... *Slurp*
Kueh
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

The Four of Us with Liang on his precious DSLR
  • Around 2 hours later...
  • Time to go home and get packing. BUT, before that...
  • All of us were dying to buy some Bak Kwa from Lim Chee Guan. I ended up buying nothing though, 'cause I was left penniless AGAIN. =D
On Our Way to Lim Chee Guan
  • Jun stayed for another night, but I had to go back to Malaysia earlier for class the next day.
  • 22:00 came the end of my second trip to Singapore this year.

Sorry, guys! Not in the mood to write. I know the article's a lil' crappy. SORRY!

The NasSau Hair Lift Wayr Wei KoMun Melaka

15 AUGUST 2009
Kuala Lumpur
  • Made my way to a studio at Robson Heights to meet up with Zalina and the rest after Suet Yee's birthday celebration at Gardens.
  • There were altogether nine of us - Zalina, Kai Sing, Nickson, Tian Kiat, Jenny, Johan, Sammi, our new friend Melisa Suciati from Indonesia, and I. Melisa joined us later on at Melaka as a replacement.
  • Rehearsed our parts with the conductor/composer/arranger for around half an hour or so.
  • All of us present for the rehearsal, except Zalina, went to Maideen for drinks.

16 AUGUST 2009
Kuala Lumpur/Melaka
  • Slept around eight in the morning because I was seriously caught up in competing with David. Both of us played "Plants vs. Zombies" until I finally gave up and went upstairs to clean up my messy room before taking a short nap of around two hours.
  • Went shopping for white slacks, shirt and shoes with Kai Sing. Rushed home right after to pack. Last minute preparation AS USUAL!!! XD
  • Zalina drove Kai Sing, Sammi and I, whereas Johan, Nickson, Tian Kiat and Jenny went with Jenny's Kelisa.
  • On call for the rest of the day, but the sound check, and full rehearsal with the band and orchestra were called off in the end due to heavy rain.
  • Practiced our parts at our apartment with Nickson leading us at first. Zalina took over shortly after the rehearsal was called off.
  • Had to dance for the closing song. GOSH!!! I seriously have zero knowledge when it comes to dancing! Kai Sing taught me a few dance moves. Zalina had to pull me out and teach me personally after seeing that I could not catch up. Began to worry that I could not deliver the next day. @@
  • A grounding session followed... Sammi began to dance like the late Michael Jackson after I "tranfer" all my "dumb" energy to her (as Nickson said... HAHA! Sorry, Nickson!)
  • Went to McDonald's for supper.

17 AUGUST 2009
Melaka

  • PERFORMANCE DAY!!!
  • Nickson, Jenny, Tian Kiat and Johan woke up earlier and went to the mall to watch G.I. Joe.
  • Kai Sing, Sammi and I decided that we'd prefer to stay and continue to sleep. XD
  • Sammi wanted to try the chicken rice balls, so Zalina drove the three of us to a nearby restaurant for lunch. (Thanks for the meal!!!)
  • Practiced a bit more after lunch.
  • Went to the A Famosa Fort around 4.30 P.M. for sound check and full rehearsal.
  • The launching was delayed and began around 9 P.M. due to the weather.
  • Sang the opening tune after all the speeches were given by the guests.
  • While waiting for the closing theme, all of the singers moved to the music accompanying the the local artists. Had heaps of fun on stage!
  • The show was closed, of course, with the closing tune.
  • OH! NOT TO FORGET! The firecrackers scared the hell out of us as we were performing the opening song. Luckily, we still managed to pull through.
  • Depart for K.L. around 11P.M

Famous quote of the trip - "Stop flicking his nipple, Bitch!"
Had a wonderful experience with all of them!
Hoping for another performance soon! XD

25 JUNE 2009
David's Birthday
  • Close to two months since David's surprise party. Was caught up with piles of assignments and exams for the past few weeks. Now I can finally breathe the sweet air of freedom!!!
  • No pictures available to be uploaded though. (Sorry about that!)
  • Writing this from a superbly vague memory, so don't expect too much of a detailed story from me.
  • IF my memory serves me right, we pretended to have totally forgotten about his birthday.
  • Remember him calling in the middle of the preparation, asking if me and Kok Kian would like to follow Zi Ming and join him for dinner somewhere near his workplace. (Remember rejecting him cruelly and feeling bad for treating the birthday boy so. But HEY! The surprise party that came later on, that was worth every disappointment that he went through that day! XD)
  • Talking about the preparation... Went to Leisure Mall during my two hour break to grab a paper bag and a tiny box to contain his gifts. Went to Mid Valley later on to grab all the party supplies, durian pancakes, durian ice-cream, durian cream puffs, Big Apple Donuts of which one of the donuts is of durian flavor, etc. (Now you know... How much he adores durian! =p)
  • On Kok Kian's side, he went with Wai Kit, Mel and Lilo to buy snacks, finger food, drinks, as well as the birthday boy's cake.
  • When all preparations were set, we waited IMPATIENTLY for David to return home from work. (Remember a false alarm... Hmm...)
  • Heard the sound of the gate opening. Everyone was downright nervous! It was the real deal and just as he entered the front door... “你们通通跟我出来!”
  • Could not blame him though... The balloons were scattered all around the floor. We came out of our hiding places, and with Kevin on guitar, sang him a birthday tune.
  • However, I could tell that he was seriously happy and appreciated the surprise party we had prepared for him.
  • Ended his birthday celebration with a "trip" to Reggae Bar. XD

1 JULY 2009
Jing Yean's Birthday

  • 大佬's birthday! Could not remember much either. >.<
  • Remember going to Marche Movenpick Restaurant for dinner.
  • Remember going to Secret Recipe to buy him a cake.
  • Could not remember where we went to devour the cake. @@
  • Could not even remember what cake we bought him. LOL!
  • Moving on...

15 AUGUST 2009
Suet Yee's Birthday

  • Actually the initial plan was to go to Port Dickson, but the resort was fully booked. The following plan was to go to Genting, but due to H1N1, we figured we better not go there as well. Finally, we ended up dining at Italiannies in The Gardens.
  • Thanks JY and SY for going to The Gardens instead of The Curve! Really appreciate you guys changing the venue for me!!! THANKS!!!
  • Yee Mei, Pay Ying, Kian Siong, Grace, Li Yien, Jun and me gave Suet Yee a card with the words "One in a Melon" written on it.
  • Had a wonderful evening chatting AND gossiping, catching up and everything.
  • Fish got herself a FREE birthday cake. (Not really a cake... Don't really know what it's called. >.<)
  • She was asked by the waiters and waitresses there to stand on her chair and to give a speech to all of us present. It was downright funny to see an embarrassed fish on a chair. XD
  • After the dinner, the rest of the gang continued to shop at Mid Valley.
  • Too bad I had to leave early for my rehearsal. T.T

Once again... Happy Birthday to all of you! XOXO

Kok Kian's 21st Birthday

12-14 JUNE 2009
Port Dickson
  • Due to the fact that I'm writing about this event almost one month later, I'm having some problems drawing out the whole picture.
  • Kok Kian's 21st birthday... Hmm... Keng Xhik wanted to make it a memorable one for him. So, what's more memorable than a 3-day trip to Port Dickson with your mates, right? But... There's more... A SONY ERICSSON W350I!!! (With... A birthday tune specially written by both David and Keng Xhik, and recorded by the both of them and me, downloaded into his new handset!) AWESOME!!! XD

12 JUNE 2009

1st Day
  • We're supposed to depart shortly after band class, but due to some "unavoided" reasons, we delayed our departure time by half an hour? Hmm... Can't really remember...
  • WHAT'S WITH US AND GETTING LOST?! As we're driving happily to Port Dickson for a dinner with Keng Xhik's aunt, we got lost and guess where in world we ended up in? MALACCA!!! @@
  • Same as the previous time, we still managed to find our way to Port Dickson. YEAH!!! Got to thank Keng Xhik's aunt for the fantastic dinner! (And sorry as well for being late.)
  • Brain's malfunctioning again... Memory's failing again... Played some funny games at night, I THINK, and everyone was hit several times by God knows how many pillows.
  • Before that... Just as the clock striked exactly 12 midnight, we played "grab-the-birthday-boy-and-pin-him-to-the-ground-and-sensored". =p

13 JUNE 2009
2nd Day
  • Everyone woke up late, missed breakfast, buffet brunch, etc. (Not really important...)
  • Went to the artificial beach at Tiara Beach (Oh yeah! We stayed at Tiara Beach!) for a "swim". Splashed water at each other, played until all of us went insane, bla-bla-bla... And that's all that I can dig out of my mind currently. (It's already 4.30A.M.)
  • Went for a walk at the beach in the evening. GOSH!!! I MISSED THE BEACH TO BITS!!! T.T
  • Pasar malam, dinner, went for a drink at a nearby cafe, went to buy some snacks, bla-bla-bla... (Not important either...)
  • Private

14 JUNE 2009
Last Day

  • Went home after lunch at Kenny Rogers Roasters in Seremban Parade. XD

To be fair, I've posted everyone's sleeping posture below (except Lilo, she was the photographer):

Worth the money, worth the time, worth every effort we've put into it!
But currently seriously broke... XD
Although it's like already one month after, still I want to wish my dear friend publicly...
HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY!!! MUAKZ...!!! XOXO =p

Doggone Trail

23 MAY 2009
Broga Hill
  • Spent the night before at Alexis watching Adil and Justin's gig + a few hours before at Top Gear attacking the survivors and shooting zombies, as well as killing the terrorists and sometimes, the counter-terrorists = zero hour of sleep before the hike
  • Got lost along the way to the Mobil Petrol Station right before Seremban Highway (was supposed to meet up with the rest of the hiking team there at 6 A.M.); got lost again while following the other cars to Broga Hill. (BLAME THE TRAFFIC LIGHT!!!)
  • Still managed to reach Broga Hill in one piece after all the commotion. XD
  • All of us, except Keng Xhik (he was sleeping inside his car), went for the hike.
  • Walked pass a palm plantation, hiked up plenty of slippery slopes, walked through a tall grass trek... Tiring? DOWNRIGHT!!! (Especially with a sleepy pair of eyes. @@)
  • But it was an experience out of the ordinary to be able to hike with our canine companions. (Lala's husband accompany me on the way up, and Lala herself and Billion led me down the trail.)
  • We did not finish exploring the trail though. (Just managed to hike through half of it.)
  • Kok Kian "cabut" shortly after he reached the first stop, while David and I managed to make it to the second stop.
  • Went to Jovy's house after the hike. David, Kok Kian and Keng Xhik went home to sleep.

A Walk to Remember

9 MAY 2009
Wesak Day
  • Together with other members and supporters of Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better, David, Keng Xhik, Kok Kian and I had participated in the annual procession organized by Buddhist Mahara Vihara in Brickfields.
  • Well, we did not really finished the 12km route though. (Got off the trail upon reaching Sg. Wang.)
  • Other than commemorating Wesak Day, members and supporters of MDDB had also walked to remember the poor souls that lost their lives in Pulau Tengah and Pulau Selat Kering after they were cruelly abandoned by the residents of Pulau Ketam. (I'm talking about the dogs.)
  • We had walked to symbolise the liberation of Malaysian dogs from cruelty and prejudice!

4 MAY 2009
Li Jing's Birthday
  • Happy Birthday, Li Jing!
  • Celebrated her birthday with a meal at Bar.B.Q Plaza with Wei Keat. (Thanks for the meal. =p)
  • Well, Wei Keat and I did not prepare the present earlier. So, after Li Jing made a final decision on what to order, I went for a seriously long toilet trip. SERIOUSLY LONG... XD
  • Bought her a Piglet cushion and two slices of cakes from Berry Passion.
  • Stomach filled, candles blown, cakes eaten, off to photo taking we went. =)
  • Ain't really satisfied with the shots. @@
  • Walked around for a short while more and went back to Connaught after getting our desserts.

Musically Delicious

1 MAY 2009
Keng Ching's Gig
  • Keng Ching drove both Wei Keat and I to the designated destination.
  • Before the gig, before Keng Ching even started to drive from my house, inside his car... Wei Keat and I gave him an uglily wrapped present. Presents, to be exact. Keng Ching had a rough time guessing what's inside. But after a few clues, he figured that the presents were actually one pink 2L Felton bottle, and another really cute 1L Mr. Men and Little Miss printed bottle. Drinking from your F&N bottle too frequently is bad for your health. XD
  • The gig began at 2130 and ended at 0030.
  • 3 sets altogether, but the pay was sort of unreasonable considering the venue was a high-class restaurant.
  • However, Wei Keat has fallen in love with the restaurant's butterscotch shake. As for me, the Death by Iced Chocolate did a great job at satisfying my taste buds.

Singapore Trip I

24 APRIL 2009
The Journey Began
  • Bus departed around 10.30 in the morning.
  • This was, by far, the worst 7 hours of my life! Been having a serious travel sickness along the way. Used around four to five plastic bags to contain my vomit. Eww..!! :s Thanks, Yee Liang, for taking care of me!
  • Reached Singapore around 6.30 in the evening. GROUND, SOLID, STATIC GROUND!!! MUAKZ..!!
  • After my first meal at Singapore, Peng Hong brought Yee Liang and I for a drink at Clarke Quay. (Iguana Breeze for me, and Margaritas for the two gentlemen!)

25 APRIL 2009
Second Day
  • Brunch at Burger King, near Boat Quay.
  • While searching for the way to City Hall, accidentally went into Funan DigitaLife Mall. (Peng Hong directed us to the wrong way. @@)
  • Walked a way longer distance to reach CityLink Mall.
  • Went to Gelare @ CityLink Mall for waffles! YUMMY!!! XD
  • Next destination, the Explanade, followed by the Merlion.
  • Did something darn funny, but you guys will just have to wait awhile longer to find out what it is. *wink*

Yee Liang's 22nd Birthday
  • Exactly 12 midnight, wished the birthday boy, "Happy Birthday!"
  • The cake was a little late though. (Peng Hong was sleeping like a log! Blame him!!!)
  • DURIAN CAKE!!! I was having a hard time finishing just one small slice of the cake. YUCK!!! Not fond of durian, not now, not ever!
Durian Cake
  • Spent half of the third day at Marina Square.
  • The snooker centre was our first destination.
  • Felt the itch to play pool after watching a HK drama. XD
Won 3 out of 5 matches. =p
  • Went to K Box and sang till 9 at night.
  • Went to Chinatown for dinner.

Back to Kuantan
  • Journey began around 8.30 in the morning.
  • Separated from Yee Liang after breakfast.
  • Went to Peng Hong's house to get his passport.
  • Rushed like mad to the bus terminal, but still, we missed the bus by 5 minutes! (The departure time was 11.00A.M.)
  • Forced to take "Cepat Express" home. Worst bus I've taken so far! 12.30P.M. was the earliest time slot though. Ain't got a choice. >.<
